TETINE - live at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen Oct 24th

As part of Oxjam Music Festival, Musica Mutante! brings you a night of electro / rock / new wave / punk / tropical / funk headlined with music and visuals by internationally acclaimed artists Tetine and support from London experimental indie band Encounters as well as a very special DJ set from Angele Phase, fresh from Colombian tours with Depeche Mode and Ladytron.

Tetine are Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado. They met in 1995 in São Paulo, Brazil and have since created a multitude of sound works from atonal orchestral pieces to electro punk / bailefunk / miami bass-driven tunes, as well as single-handedly influencing an entire new generation of of Europe's DJs and beat makers with their 2004 compilation / mixtape "Slum Dunk presents Funk Carioca". They have also made a series of ritualistic performances and have extensively exhibited art films and video from the Barbican and Whitechapel galleries, alongside French artist Sophie Calle at Videobrasil in São Paulo, Liverpool Biennial, Porto's Casa Da Música, Frankfurter Kunstverein and beyond.

2010 saw the new release of Tetine's long-awaited album, "From a Forest Near You", followed by 12" EP "Tropical Funk" on Slum Dunk Records, their first release since Soul Jazz Records' "Let Your X's be your Y's" in 2008.
