Bruno Verner is a musician & poet. Eliete Mejorado is a performance artist, musician & filmmaker. They are best known for their work with tropical punk art duo Tetine which they formed together in São Paulo in 1995.
Verner and Mejorado will discuss the 1980s post-punk scene in Southern Brasil and their contemporary work as Tetine. Issues will include gambiarra, sexual politics, club culture, Tropicália, funk carioca, and the potential of post-punk performance in the globalised contemporary art world.
Post-Punk Then and Now is a series of talks & film screenings exploring post-punk’s popular modernist search for the new from the 1970s to today.
